Roger Stegall is an accomplished fisherman in every aspect of the word. He has over 25 years of guiding and tournament experience in the Operation Bass and B.A.S.S. trails.

Features in BassMaster Magazine (March 1999) and Field and Stream Magazine (June 1999) document that Roger is not just a local who can catch fish but he is a listened to and respected professional. Those magazine articles are the result of years of hard work and fishing know-how. Any day on the water with Roger is enjoyable but that does not mean it is slothful. He puts every effort into the job of finding you fish to catch. His clients very often catch numbers of good fish but Roger is most celebrated for having numerous smallmouth over 7 pounds to his guiding credit. I can't guarantee that you will catch a bunch of fish, nor can I assure you of a big smallie. However, I can promise you that you will enjoy your day with Roger and that the odds of you sticking the fish of your dreams is increased dramatically. If you like to fish, you will love Pickwick and the area lakes. And, when you think of Pickwick, you must think of Roger Stegall.

Roger Gant - Super Pro Guide Service - Crappie Fishing

Without a doubt, the best crappie guide in the south and 30 plus years of experience to prove it. Roger uses a technique he named pulling. Angler's normally use two rods rigged with jigs dropped to the bottom and then cranked up a few times to bring the bait off the bottom. Roger uses a trolling motor on the side of the boat to pull the boat sideways allowing anglers to position lines so everyone has the same chance.

He has become so successful that he has four boats in his guide service, with his brother also guiding. Pickwick Lake, Sardis Lake and Bay Springs Lake on the Tenn-Tom Waterway are Rogers favorite spots to fish depending on where the fish are the hottest.

Crappie are caught all year long. Yes, that's right, Roger says warm weather crappie in July, August and September bite more consistently than crappie at any other time of the year.

Roger and wife Betty also offer cabin rental for your stay at Pickwick Lake. This is a trip you will not want to miss. Book early because Roger stays booked all year long.
